Seems inventory is extra low this marathon, or people quick to snatch stuff up. Missed out on like 10 different bottles after adding to cart.

One has to wonder if it is structured that way to create a mindset of “dont think, just buy”

Castello di Fonterutoli Chianti Classico Mazzei 2015 is now up. I thought I bought the "last bottle" back in June of 2018.
Anyway, I bought some more. Signore Lapo Mazzei passed away today at his Fonterutoli estate. He was 94. I'll toast him with a glass.

I bit on several offerings over the course of today's marathon:

'15 Ferraton Cornas Les Grands Muriers
'17 Theorize Sav Blanc Napa (Jean Hoefliger)
'12 Celestino Pecci Brunello Riserva
'14 Janasse CdP Vielles Vignes

No rhyme or reason, just some nice fill-ins at pretty good prices.

My damage for the day:

- Jean Marc Bernhard Cremant d'Alsace Brut Reserve N.V. (I think I just bought this b/c I was so excited about the sale in general...)
- Andre Jacquart Mesnil Experience Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru N.V.
- Clemens Busch Riesling Pundericher Marienburg Rothenpfad GG 2016
- Markus Molitor Riesling Bernkasteler Lay Auslese** White Capsule 2015
- V Madrone Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena 2008 (I feel like a lot of people here like these wines, so I figured I would try one)
- Louis Chalvon Brut Grande Reserve Champagne NV
- Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Himmelrich Riesling Eiswein 2016

Missed out on more than I bought, but got:

2005 Fontanafredda Barolo 500ml
2013 Luisin Barbaresco Paolin

Happy I didn't buy too much. Have got too much wine on the way from Garagiste to go crazy on this sale.

I got totally sucked into this. Reminds me of the Woot.com woot-offs. Kind of sucks for me because, due to the amount of time the deals stay up, its hard for me to check if its a deal or not. Some of the ones I didn't know and needed to check were not discounted, and others had horrible reviews.

The power hour was crazy. I was happy with the Sassicaia I got, but it wasn't a screaming deal. I suppose I don't know much outside of Bordeaux to know whats worth the high price, so I passed on most stuff that came up. Some of those went by crazy fast too.

I picked up
8 - 2015 Sassicaia
2 - FaitMain Cab
3 - Leto 2015 StHelena Cab
1 - 07 Meteor Perseid Napa Cab
3 - Mark Herold Acha
1 - Michael Caitlin Pinot
2 - Castello de Fonterutoli Siepi 2015
2 - Celestino Pecci Brunello Riserva 2012
6 - Carmes half bottles
6 - Lieutenant de Sigalas sauternes 2010 375ml
4 - V Madrone

You stole that bottle from me too! j/k. Tried to snatch that one up but was too slow and it was gone by the time I went to checkout. Most things I've lost out on have been while using the app. I think there's a bigger delay with the app than the website.

Absolutely. I don't care for the app anyway, but it's basically unusable during the marathons for me.

There were several other vintages yesterday for $99 (also magnum) that several of us picked up. $89 is cheaper, but 2011 seems like a rough vintage for Napa so I passed on this one.

Chris, what was the price of the Scarlett?
Only thing I picked up was half bottles of the Des Carmes Haut-Brion
Scarlett back up now

Please let this marathon end. I just upgraded my wine locker and I think this 2 day buying binge may have already filled it up!

Nice offers from Ruston during the sale - 2015 Cuvée Mahalia (a Merlot-Cab blend) for $25, 2016 La Maestra Cab for $39, and 2015 La Maestra Cab in magnum for $99. I passed on the magnum but happily bought some of each of the other two.
