The last marathon was on 12/13.

I received my wine on 2/21.
Pretty sad turnaround times.
It seems like their 20-man operation just gets completely overwhelmed with the huge volume of marathon sales, but I've ordered on one of their regular days and received my wine the same week with standard shipping.
That's my experience as well. I have received regular deals within a week, but the marathon sales seem to take longer and longer each time.

I totally get it, but for the uninitiated it can be a bit alarming to have to wait nearly an entire quarter for wine shipments.

I bit an purchased 4 bottles of the recent deal: Domaine Besson Chablis 1er Cru Montmains 2012

I've yet to try any white burgundy yet. I hope this is a good intro. I've seen a lot of talk about premox when it comes to whit burg. Can anyone recommend a good drinking window that will allow for the wine to develope while minimizing chance of premox?
2015 Domaine Besson Chablis Vaudesir Grand Cru is up now for $39? Anyone a buy?

How can the wine have a retail and a best web price if it is a small batch sold only under the Sleeper label?

I agree it's kinda BS. I'm assuming they're comparing it to the retail of the wine that carries the brand of the actual grower.

I have no track record of guessing these, but given that she started her own label and '14 was the inaugural release of her Oakville Cab, my guess is that this was the test run for that bottling that she decided wasn't quite good enough to make her debut. That wine retails for $185-200, so that is a good fit. Now that I'm writing all that down, it seems like this is a pass at $95, but I bought two anyway.

As you know, nothing new here. WTSO got their hand slapped for basically the same pricing model. Even though everyone plays the same game.

Popped the 2014 Wind Gap Syrah last night. Not my preferred style. Nose was faint. Very light, no body and finish. No much going-on. Left some for today to see if it gains any weight.

They are definitely pounders. 11% abv, spritz about half of a normal sparkling wine, lemon lime, nice acid. Think wine cooler or Sprite with smaller bubbles but not as sweet.

Just received my marathon shipment which was only 1 bottle today but the high in my hometown was 99 degrees! I got out my infrared thermometer and shot it at 92.8 degrees on the bottle. Not really sure what they were thinking. No ice packs or anything to help cool it off. Sent them an email asking what they plan to do. A bit disappointing they would do that.

For future reference, ask for an ice pack in the comments section when you place your order. My 9 bottle Marathon shipment arrived with ice packs (pursuant to my request [and an additional $4] and the bottles were cool -- probably between 55 and 60 degrees.

They got back to me quickly and shipped with insurance and gave me a few options which resolved my situation professionally as hoped :) Thanks for the heads up though for next time!

Received a notification that my bottles from the last marathon were delivered... and signed for... which is interesting because I'm home and don't have my bottles. I know this is on FedEx and not LastBottle but I so wish retailers would give you a choice about delivery company!

Now to find where the wine ended up...

I actually got emails last week saying my bottles were delivered, but upon checking the details they were referring to the marathon BEFORE the last marathon, and the date delivered said march 2019, which was accurate. Not sure what caused them to resend those emails but I was glad they didn't ship the most recent marathon orders in this heat.

First Bottle does... so maybe? I kind of suspect that they share the same warehouse space and I think they are ran by the same people. Unless LB's business model doesn't work if they hold the bottles, I think they'd do it. If you ask them, please let us know what they say.

Also, traditionally the "savings" off the original prices amounts to just a few $/btl. So, that's bad economics if there's just 1 bottle in there that you don't like. That's a terrible risk/reward.

I learned from watching people do the same thing Garagiste.

Nobody biting on the "Summer Mystery Case" ($140)?
Nope. I like to know what Im purchasing.
Id rather get 1-3 nice bottles of wine than roll the dice.
Also, traditionally the "savings" off the original prices amounts to just a few $/btl. So, that's bad economics if there's just 1 bottle in there that you don't like. That's a terrible risk/reward.

I learned from watching people do the same thing Garagiste.
Surprisingly I've been lucky with the mystery deals at Garagiste. Jon fluffs like crazy, but gives reasonable hints on the style to make a relatively educated guess/gamble.
Last bottle Wines mystery boxes otoh with barely a hint of what your getting is way too much of a gamble.
