Super tempted by the Sbragia cab up now

Me too Todd, I have very little cab from the 10-12-13 vintages and feel that I may regret that if I don't start buying some. Don't drink cabs often, but like to have them around mainly to serve with steak.

But looking around, other vintages are available all over at $30 ish, so I guess I'm not in that much of a rush

Ed Sbragia is super talented and under the radar around here.
Todd, a good choice. Jen would love it.

I'm still catching my shopping breath from the marathon. Something about their marathon days really turns on my love and curiosity regarding wine.

I know it's a business and all, but I really enjoy shopping with them.

I bit an purchased 4 bottles of the recent deal: Domaine Besson Chablis 1er Cru Montmains 2012

I've yet to try any white burgundy yet. I hope this is a good intro. I've seen a lot of talk about premox when it comes to whit burg. Can anyone recommend a good drinking window that will allow for the wine to develope while minimizing chance of premox?

2012 is a very good vintage IMO and I think you should be in good shape. I would literally try this as soon as you like because I find Chablis to be delicious young. However, the thing about premox is that it is random, so a bottle may age to apogee very well while the bottle next to it in the case will be golden at age seven or eight. In any case, try these in the next year and if you like them young continue to drink. If they need time let them age a while. Not being familiar with this producer I don't think I'd plan on long aging (10 years or more) anyway.

I'm also considering the Domaine Besson, but there is so little information about this producer. The first google hit for that name turns up a hotel!

I've been burned too many times buying 4+ bottles of wine that tuned out lousy. Time to exercise restraint.

$24/ bottle doesn't seem like a huge risk for a 1er cru. Only one way to find out.

I picked up a couple of today's Brunello. Not much has been written about this producer (Tenuta Buon Tempo), but from what I could locate online has been recently revamped and is aiming for a fresh, energetic style. Appears to have good distribution in Australia. Figured worth a shot. Any experience?

I've been getting into sparkling wines recently and bit on this vintage cava. At $10/bottle, I can't imagine it would be that big of a risk. I need a economical sparkler for the gf and I to drink with dinner. Worst case scenario, the gf drinks these instead of my Roederer estates when she is itching for some bubbles. Thoughts?

The 2012 Malescot-St. Exupery offer from garagiste last Sunday is a better deal than Last Bottle's Monbousquet at about the same tariff, IMHO.

I've never had it, the CT notes vary greatly from year to year, though I think some were consumed way too young.

What happens if you chose the "hold" option? Is it held for weather and then shipped by refrigerated ground, or is it held and shipped by normal ground? Or do they charge you to hold it and then figure out shipping later?

Excellent! Nice new review. And wine searcher pro was 30 bucks best price...It is now the top wine on last bottle last 30 days. I was surprised it didnt sell out as it was up into the night. Guess they got a boatload of it. Lets hope the review is on point.

Mark, I've gotta try some of that Syrah one of these years, always hear good things. I've had many a bottle of Jemrose Grenache though and it's just delicious, as is the QPR-supreme Cardiac Cuveé that turns up on LB every now and then too.

As for the Viognier, I can't think of a more tasty yet elegant example from CA that actually possesses a bit of nerve and never comes off as flabby/blowzy. I hope you dig it!

Average cellartracker price was $17 until this offer. It's now at $18.16.

With Jeff Leve giving better vintages than this an 88, it's not something I want to buy 6 at a time.

No info on that wine. However, having bought plenty from LB in the past, I'd say that you should listen to your spider-sense, as it's usually correct.
