2007 Windy Oaks Estate Pinot Noir Wild Yeast - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (1/22/2011)
Slow ox’d four hours before serving. Clear ruby red. Beautiful wine. Spice and earth on the nose. Cardamom and Marjoram and a hint of Chinese Five Spice. Some sweet raspberry on the mid palate, but balanced with mushroomy and earthy notes. Great acidity makes this pretty much impossible to ignore. Some tart red cherry flavors balance the sweeter red fruit. Medium bodied with present, but soft tannins. Wonderfully bright, long finish.
Impressive, complex bottle of wine. (93 pts.)
