Took this out to dinner to local steakhouse last night. One of the better Cabs I’ve had recently.
2005 Stewart Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley (5/9/2009)
Popped about 30 minutes before heading to the restaurant. Terrific Cab here. Toast, smoke, pencil notes on the nose. Black currant and tobacco on the palate. Without a decant, there are formidable tannins here. Lots of pure fruit that is slightly ripe fruit for my palate, but may integrate with more years. Old worldish. This is lovely with years ahead of it. Excellent Cab.
