TNs: The Good German(s): Gunderloch(s)

Gunderloch Riesling Auslese Nackenheimer Rothenberg 2004:
Smoked peas, pork cracklings and orange peels (interestingly) are the first thing bouncing off the nose. Creamy and elegant, packed with some white peach, passion fruit, pineapple, green apple skins, dried, cured meats and honeycomb. Mineral driven and really very impressive. Hints of white pepper peek out now and then. Still have two bottles to play with in a few years. 92 points
Gunderloch Riesling Spatlese Nackenheimer Rothenberg 2003:
Stone fruits jump out from the glass. There is some spice and some flinty character hanging about as well. Really this reminds me of a green apple sour candy (in a good way!). Skinless red fruits, super-ripe mangoes, Granny Smith apples, honeysuckle and Asian pears form the balance of the fruit content. One of my favorite '03s right now. 93 points

I know they’re not the same pradikat level, but did you notice much of a difference in the acidity between the two vintages?

The '03 was a little more zippy . . .
