Not really a TN as I had 10 people on the patio and was just cooking and serving wines all night. Not a lot of time to take notes… A fabulously decadent 4th party at my place. (7/4/08)
The 1998 JL Chave Hermitage Rouge is still very very tight. I had just opened the 1997 at Totoraku (Los Angeles) and it was singing. The 1998 is showing mainly white pepper with a touch of dark fruits. Over the course of 30 minutes it starts to open but with 10 people the bottle disappeared pretty fast. Don’t touch for at least 4 more years.
