Color: Dense, saturated, dark purple, turning translucent on the rim.
Nose: Black fruits, roasted meat, a subtle vanilla note
Palate: Very intense and rich black fruit, a little toasted oak, bright and lively acidity and velvety but assertive tannins. The alcohol is very well integrated and the finish is in excess of twenty seconds.
Overall perception: Killer Shiraz for the money. Big and lush, almost creamy in it’s richness, but not overipe. The acidity keeps it all very racy and interesting. The fruit is intense and upon finishing the wine the night after it was opened there was no perceptable loss of vigor or signs of oxidation.
