What do you call a vineyard-specific tasting?

Bear with me, here. It’s not a vertical … and it’s not a horizontal …

I’m trying to plan two casual tastings around Dusi Vineyard zins and Cargassachi pinots. What do call a tasting of all renditions and available vintages from a particular vineyard?

Dirticle? [shrug.gif]

The ones I have been to if there was a term used it was vertical. The vineyard name is like a label name in many respects. Works for me.

There’s not a term as far as I know. Vertical wouldn’t be right since it implies a vintage progression. If I were to make up a term I’d call it a portfolio tasting or a vineyard survey.

Hm, well in that case, I’m leaning toward …

A Vineyard Journal

How’s that sound? Better than Dirticle?

No, “dirticle” is perfect! I like that a lot. [good.gif]

Vineyard specific works for me. OR “A Survey of Pisoni Pinots” or the like.

Dirticle sounds like it should be in another forum. [bye2.gif]

How about vinical?

How about a vineyard designate tasting. Many different producers from one vineyard. We’ve had quite a few of them.

Single Vineyard Tasting?

How about a Vineyard Retrospective?

Yeah, or “The Pinot Noirs of Cargasacchi Vineyard.” Or, “A Closer Look at Petey’s Pinot.”

Don’t say that too quickly.
