TN: From dinner the other night

2004 Kongsgaard Chard. This has to be one of my favorite American Chards, wonderful fruit and great acidity.

1997 Casanova Di Neri Ceretalto Brunello Di Montalcino. I gave this a 2 hour decant be it really need about 6 hours. This is a real teeth stainer, lots of earth, tobacco, tar…very complexed with the last sip being the best.

2004 Beaucastel. Pop and pour it was singing from the get go…the ladies loved this wine.

What '04 Beaucastel, Steve? Chateau? Coudoulet? Blanc?

Oops, Chateau. Thanks Todd.

Wow, baby killer!

The Coudoulet '04 is not that great - respectable for the price, but nothing like the '05. I’m not baller enough to have the Chateau, so I have to pretend with the lesser bottlings…

I think your the first person to ever call me a baby killer but in this case your right. I might have to kill another baby if it’s going to drink that good.

Steve, have you had the Kongs. 2005 Judge? I’m sitting on a bottle and trying to decide when to drink it

I would wait a few years Zach, they age really well…Maybe the 2012 Flannery Fest.
