2001 Carlisle Syrah Dry Creek Valley - USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley (9/10/2010)
Still very young, dark in color, though not opaque, medium/full bodied, nice nose initially of ripe berries, then roasted mushrooms, grilled meat; palate is dark and juicy, plenty of lush fruit but in control, some mineral earth and brightness from the good acidity, some nice complexity mixing in. Holding up beautifully, should be good for another 5+ years at minimum. (92 pts.)
