TN: 2005 L'Aventure Estate Cuvée (USA, California, Central C

  • 2005 L’Aventure Estate Cuvée - USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles (7/24/2010)
Big, rich and lush! 15.6% alcohol by volume. 52% syrah, 40% cab, the remainder petite verdot. Dark, almost opaque ruby red. Very expressive red and black fruit aromas. On the palate we have rasberry, mocha, chocolate, meat and a little pepper. Aftertaste lingers for 45 + seconds. A very interesting, and I think successful expression of modern wine. (92 pts.)

Good note. For what its worth, the 2007 Estate was off the hook, not only in terms of power and savage fruit, but in terms of outstanding control and balance.

I attended a wine dinner hosted by Stephan, and his 07 Estate Cuvee was my clear favorite. flirtysmile
