TN: 2002 Lucien Boillot Nuits St. Georges "Les Pruliers"

Deep dark red in color. Nose at first dominated by black cherry and black raspberry aromas. As wine opened, earth, minerals and forest floor (with a touch of pine needle) emerged. Palate consistent with nose - an unobtrusive but detectable amount of tannins suggest this wine has a good long life ahead of it. Excellent balance and length. Paired extremely well with scallops in black truffle sauce and white truffle shavings. One of those wines I’m left wishing I had bought more.

One of these days, I look forward to enjoying a nice Burg with a meal that features truffles!!!

Nice notes. I’ve had the 2001 version around 6 times the past year and you could be describing that wine with your notes. A decidedly masculine NSG (referring to the '01), a bit blocky at this point, but should smoothen out nicely in a few years.

Nice note Steve.
Good to see you on board, Welcome!
