Matello (Goodfellow) Whistling Ridge 2008

Kindly gifted by Marcus and Meghan. The first label of Goodfellow, this was splendid. Fourteen years old, the tiniest edge of mahogany, but a nose of cherries, violets and forest floor. Had I been served it blind, I have no doubt I would have guessed Burgundy, and then if pushed, Volnay, as it had that lovely floral and cherry with a sub note of oyster shell on the palate. Finish medium/long. A lovely wine at a perfect moment.

Thank you Mark! I am really happy to hear that the 2008 showed well.

It was great to see you, and thank you again for such a lovely lunch!

We really enjoyed meeting you both.
Have to get some notes out, as I have been adding to the VCC vertical we started
