TN: 2017 TJ's Grand Reserve Barossa Shiraz Lot 109

Like going to yard sales, I try TJ’s wines, hoping to find a screaming deal
As we all know, though, with TJ’s wines…screaming deals are the exception…by far, NOT the rule
Currently at my local TJ’s (Los Altos, CA)
2017 TJ’s Grand Reserve Barossa Valley, Lot 109
$12.99
PnP
Translucent with opaque chunks
Aromas of sweet cherry, dusty vanilla
Red fruit flavors, tart, distracting acidity (like a cheap, generic Italian wine) bordering on shrill… a tad glimmer of Band-Aid…a hollow, medium body and finish
In a blind tasting, NEVER would I think this as an Aussie shiraz…Never.
Even for only $12.99…this a screaming…SHIT wine

There’s actually good wine you can buy for $12.99. It’s just the thrill of the chase or something?

It’s convenience. I do most of my grocery shopping there.
And yes, ‘the hope’ of a solid wine for the price.
FWIW, I brought back the Shiraz. They took it back, no questions…BUT I did tell them that the wine was crap.

Stick to French whites and Spanish reds at TJs for PL items, the rest are mostly misses.
