TN: 1983 Dom Perignon

If memory serves me right had the bottle since release. Color is a shade daker side of gold. I was happy to hear a “pop!” sound when removing the cork. Still has very little bubbles left. Nose of honey, caramel, clementine, apple. Palate is caramel again, honey, little bit of almond, citrus, apple, lime. Acid is balancing everything together. Wine is fully mature and aged beautifully. I’m not a big Dom fan but appreciated this wine’s ability to age. I really love drinking old ass wines.

Nice! No ‘pop’ doesn’t mean dead, as I’ve learned…I recently had an older MV Krug that had zero pop when uncorking…left open in bottle to air out for an hour, and put a stopper on to take to dinner…took stopper off and POP!! Sucker blew like a current release!

I definitely agree with you but hearing that pop sound does help me have some extra hope for an old bottle. champagne.gif
