'09 Mugneret-Gibourgs

2009 - Mugneret-Gibourg - Vosne Romanee - blackberries & strawberries on the nose. Rich, soft, concentrated complex flavors.
Great length. What a beautiful bottle !

2009- Mugneret-Gibourg - NSG - Les Chaignots - - nose of chocolate and black cherries. Raisins, mint, plums, and port on the palate. An almost exotic melange of flavors.

Even though the Chaignots was excellent and slightly more concentrated, the flavor profile of the VR stole the show on this particular evening.

Thanks for the note Josh. Whilst I haven’t had any 09s the 08 VR was soooo good a couple of years ago.

Great comment. I find this with these two wines in a number of vintages. The Chaignots is technically the better wine, but there just is something seductive that makes me like the VR.
