TN: 2010 La Lecciaia Brunello di Montalcino

Tonight we opened the first of two bottles that we purchased at a local wine shop tasting several years ago…

Lovely wine. Fairly light bodied and delicate, with initial notes of sweet cherry and flowers, moving towards attractive and lingering waves of forest and earth. Soft acids and smooth tannins complete, and complement, the taste profile. This wine is complex in its delicacy! To me, it is more Pinot-Noir like than Chianti-like. (But I’ve never tasted a Chianti this old, so maybe not a fair comparison.)

…I’m grateful for the experience of drinking a wine like this.
