Common WB Acronyms/Shorthand (Wordle for Wine Berserkers?)

A forum newbie gave a fantastic suggestion, to create a sticky with commonly used acronyms, shorthand, abbreviations. While most of us regulars know what all these mean, having a handy sticky guide atop Wine Talk can only serve to help those swimming through the Wine Berserkers waters! I will start the list, and please do reply either on this thread or via PM and I’ll add them to the OP, also alphabetize them as I go.

List of ‘most commonly used’ acronyms/shortcuts:

ABC - Alcoholic Beverage Control
AFWE - Anti Flavor Wine Elite
BD - BerserkerDay
BDX - Bordeaux
CC - Commerce Corner (for sale forum here)
CDR - Cote du Rhone
CT - CellarTracker
DOA- dead on arrival
FS - For Sale
GCC - Grand Cru Crü
GSM - Grenache Syrah Mouvedre (Rhone blend)
ISO - In Search Of (Commerce Corner)
ITB - In The Business
LWS - Local Wine Store
LTB - Looking to Buy
MC - Monopole Crü
PN - Pinot Noir
PnP - Pop N Pour
“Pobega”* (see definition below, as it is long)
QPR - Quality Price Ratio
SVD - Single Vineyard Designate
TCA - cork taint
TN - Tasting Note
VA - Volatile Acidity
WA (sometimes TWA) - Wine Advocate
WE - Wine Enthusiast
WOTN - Wine Of The Night
WOTY - Wine Of The Year
WS OR W-S - Wine-searcher. Sometimes Wine Spectator
YKYAWBW /YKYABW- you know you’re a (Wine) Berserker when…

*a longstanding member here, Mike Pobega, had a tendency to open bottles the SECOND they arrived at his door, ‘bottle shock’ be damned! The term ‘I Pobega’d/Pobegaed this bottle’ means it was opened upon or very near delivery.

For a MUCH longer list, including wines, regions, common internet usage terms, see this thread from 2011: Common Abbreviations on the Board. - Wine 101: The Basics - WineBerserkers

Some that show up with regularity. There are a zillion more that refer to esoteric Burg vineyards/producers/etc but that’s probably not what new folks want.

Here’s a few to add

DOA- dead on arrival
VCC-Vieux Chateau Certan
WV-Willamette Valley
WS OR W-S-Wine-searcher. Sometimes Wine Spectator
MC-Mopole Cru
CT-CellarTracker
BDX-Bordeaux
VA-volatile acidity
TCA- cork taint
TWA-The Wine Advocate, Robert Parker’s publication
TN-tasting note

Is the goal to have just wine specific short hand/acronyms or some general forum/interner shorthand (e.g. IIRC, YMMV, etc.)?

More forum-specific terminology, not acronyms for producers, necessarily. Need to have this as a forum vernacular tool - terms/shorthand used in the forum discussions. Great stuff, Rodrigo, thanks

Premox- premature oxidation

WE - Wine Enthusiast
PN - Pinot Noir

TWA should not be for The Wine Advocate. “The” is never included in an abbreviation. We don’t write “TUSA” for the United States of America. Also, in this case, “The” is not even in the name, which is “Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.”

BdM = “Brunello di Montalcino” or “Bonneau du Martray”
B&B = “Barolo and Barbaresco” or “Burgundy and Bordeaux”
FWG = “Fine Wine Geek”

Let’s just cut to the battle royale: does WB = WineBerserkers or WineBid?
Or should I create an FP?
