2005 Domaine Camus-Bruchon & Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru (1/16/2022)
Glassware: Grassl Cru
Prep: Pop n’ pour, stood upright for a week in the cellar beforehand.
Perfumed, mature nose of dried blackberry, black cherry, plum, sous bois, and mushrooms. Non-descript black fruit on the palate, slightly faded. Fully resolved tannins, bright acidity, and spicy, earthy minerality that lingers over a long finish. At peak now, probably has a handful of years at its current plateau but if you’re wanting the fruit I wouldn’t hold any longer. (92 pts.)
