TN: 1989 Bouchard Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne, Grand Cru

Appropriately golden for its age. The aroma is clean and fresh but with a hint of white mushroom development. There are stone fruits and some lavender and plenty of smoky mineral. In the mouth, you sense ripeness of fruit but there is also strictness of Corton and so much saline minerality. Every sip is engaging and length is superb. Great wine!

Nice to have a well aged white burg - it doesn’t happen too often these days.

89 is the vintage that woke me to the glories of white Burgundy. Good to hear that this one at least is holding up well. From the pre-premox era.
