2019 Sandlands Zinfandel- USA, California, Central Valley, Lodi (11/23/2021)
Unfortunately, after first two sips and before I had any ability to sort out my impressions or de-bone my buds, I had some blue cheese from a platter and after that all sensory inputs were skewed and kinda out the window. But I can say as much from the first few sips - this was great. I remember deep, dark fruits, mouth-coatingness, smoke and long finishes. Another great wine from Tegan. (92 pts.)
Barely got enough in to make an opinion, but perhaps after the cheeses stopped did I sense a more robust tannic structure that would probably soften a little with some age.
