Tried these two last night:

Carlisle Zin LimerickLaneVnyd/RRV/SonomaCnty (14.9%; Plntd: 1910; + PS/Peloursin/Trousseau; 120 cs) 2019: Dark color; very strong blackberry/Zin/quite spicy/RRV peppery light toasty/pencilly/oak rather dusty/OV bit floral/high-toned fairly classic RRV Zin nose; lightly tart/tangy very strong blackberry/Zin/RRV peppery/very spicy some toasty/pencilly/oak fairly dusty/OV complex flavor w/ modest tangy tannins; very long/lingering fairly bright/floral/very spicy blackberry/Zin/bit peppery some dusty/OV complex finish w/ some tangy tannins; shows the classic LL/very spicy/RRV peppery character; needs some 3-6 yrs age; lovely Zin. $47.00

Carlisle Zin PaganiRanch/SonomaVlly/SonomaCnty (15.2%; Plntd: 1895; + AlicanteBouschet/GrandNoir/Carignane/PS; 265 cs) 2019: Dark color; rather earthy/dusty/OV some blackberry/ripe/boysenberry classic Pagani/sauvage/rustic/AlicanteBouchet some dusty/OV light toasty/oakrather complex nose; bit soft rich/lush/ripe some blackberry/Zin/SonomaVlly peppery/boysenberry bit rustic/sauvage/Pagani quite dusty/OV light toasty/oak some complex flavor w/ modest rough tannins; very long/lingering ripe/lush strong blackberry/boysenberry/Zin/spicy classic Pagani/sauvage/rustic rather dusty/OV finish w/ some rough tannins; shows that classic Pagani/rustic/sauvage/AB character; needs more age yet; lovely Zin $40.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. Delving down into my latest Carlisle arrivals. Both of these seemed a bit lighter, bit less extracted, not the depth of previous versions but should put on weight & get much better over the next few yrs; both good/solid classic Carlisle Zins underneath.
