2000 Cantenac Brown

This was quite a pleasurable wine. Much richer than I was expecting. A real crowd pleaser. Nice finish but not overwhelmingly long. Excellent balance as the richness was offset by good acidity. Possibly not the most complex wine I have had, but very enjoyable.

A nice Margaux that many overlook. Definitely a food wine. Thanks for the TN, it was a reminder to pick up some of these. I haven’t had in a long time

If you see ‘Brio’ the estates deuxieme which has been floating around quite a bit out West in recent years, be careful. It trades off the grand vin’s name (at $25-$40+) but doesn’t offer the character.

The 2006 Brio was a lovely drink though which sold round here for about £15 and I am sad to have drunk all my bottles.
