I assume they sold the fruit from these blocks previously (Secret Garden comes from M Bar Ranch as well, but it’s a block designate) … or maybe blended them into the Estate or Reserve cab? Price is $150/btl (though it’s mailing list only and all mailing list members get some degree of discount) which puts it squarely in the “I want to find out more before blindly buying it” camp. I suppose if it were blended into less expensive wines, and they feel like it’s worth of an SVD bottling, clearly they make more money off the fruit this way … or maybe it’s as simple as the purchase agreement expired with another producer?
