1988 Château Magdelaine

The bottle and cork were in perfect condition and the wine poured out with a vibrant colour, The nose was fresh, with a hint of cedar, briary red fruits, and tobacco and capsicum. The palate is linear and lean in a good way. It has nice energy and intensifies at its core with air. It is mid-weight, elegant and nicely balanced.

Thanks for the note. Don’t have a recent note, so doubly welcome.

You’re killing me, Jeremy. I dropped one of these in my warehouse last week and it poured out and smelled just the way you describe. I wasn’t quick enough to be able to confirm your palate impressions.

Sounds very much like a 1970 bottle brought to an offline a few weeks ago.
