wine stores, in the Streeterville area/e ontario/e ohio street, anyone know of the go to wine shops, thanks

The only store thats walkable is Binny’s on West Grand. The Whole Foods on Grand has a reasonable, but not really special wine selection.

A bit further are Perman Wine Selections and Plum Market, a very upscale grocery with a nice wine department.

House of Glunz is an option that’s not too far.

If you can venture further away then Red and White in Wicker Park for natural wines.

Verve just opened in Lincoln Park and has a great selection.

If you order online and have a few days patience then Flickinger has an amazing inventory and very good prices.

Binnys is always reliable

Binnys!!

I’m always surprised that there isn’t a decent wine shop in Streeterville, at least since Fox & Obel closed

Not many good everyday restaurants either.

If sticking to streeterville proper, I think the Whole Foods is the best bet. But Binnys is just outside streeterville and a better, though uninspiring option.

That was a neat grocery store.

Perman Wines at 1167 N. Howe St.has an interesting selection and is not too far from River North. They open at noon on Monday. Here’s a link to their web site:

+1 on Flickinger, order online and pick up next day.

walked over to uncork it on illinois st, bought a few nice bottle, cakebread cellars 2016 cab, chateau montelena cab and a martin ray 2018 cab

The rent is too egregious for anyone new moving in. You pretty much have to hate money to open an independent store there or just not care about money
