TN: 2013 Sandlands Chenin Blanc, Amador County

I know others have mentioned the oak on these wines, but this is the first time that I’ve really noticed it. Still a solid chenin though!

Ha! Just like a little age on em [cheers.gif]

Just checked, and yep, one bottle.

Tough call on when to open it. The question is whether or not the oak becomes more integrated with time. I don’t recall it sticking out as much in the past so that gives me slight pause about aging them for too much longer.

Does anyone know if/what oak was used on these? I was under the impression that all of these chenins were done in large neutral barrel. Yes, I know even a 20 year old barrel can have some effect… but I never notice aromas or flavors I directly associate with oak from this type of barrel/vat.
