You have to like old champagne to enjoy this, and I do and I did! It’s a beautiful wine. Light amber with a moderate bead. Perfect sweetness and acid balance. Mostly tertiary, with dried apricots, mushroom, coffee, tobacco, salty hazelnut. No cider notes.
This is 100% Pinot Meunier, and I believe it is all 1995. I loved it; happy to have more.
Not sure if I ever had that bottling, but drank quite a few Collards in the 90s and 00s. Miss being able to drink them young!
