19' Standish release

Am I the only crazy one to buy Standish yesterday from the US?

Split a mixed case with a friend to offset some of the shipping costs. $110 AUD a bottle.

$360 AUD to ship a case over to CA.

Tallest wine in history?

Jeff, I am tempted. I’ve never had these wines, phoning a friend to go halves on a case is something I should have thought of.

Any insights on the juice (previous vintages, or style) from personal experience?

My mate in Melbourne told me I needed to get in on this. The email went into my spam and the Lamella was sold out before I got a chance to look at the offer.

I am told the Standish and Schubert Theorem require 5-10 years of cellar time before drinking good and the Relic 10-15 years.

Barossa Shiraz is typically very big and can have higher alcohol. Standish is hard to find in the US and sells out in Oz. They have some damn good feedback on cellartracker too.The Standish Wine Company - CellarTracker

Stonehenge… And then some.

Liked the two I had 2006 The Standish Wine Company The Relic and 2003 The Standish Wine Company Shiraz The Standish

I have a 2002 Relic ready to go for tomorrow night’s tasting, coincidentally.
