2000 Clos de Tart

I was pleasantly surprised by this wine. While it was fairly ripe, the overall wine was beautiful. Expressive nose from the first pour with dark fruit and a bit of pine notes. On palate, there was definitely the ripe dark fruit but it was accompanied by nice herbal and savory notes. A medium to long finish. Not a great Clos de Tart, but still a very solid wine.

Had a killer maggie a few years ago! Never been disappointed with CdT. Thanks

nice. Sounds better even than the 2001 though it’s been years since I’ve had that. Not sure I’ve read a note about a bad 2000—vintage exceeding expectations.

Friends,

Just for the record : Sylvain Pitiot believes the 2001 is one of the best CLOS de TARTS he’s ever made…Clos de Tart has always been a favourite of mine. More regular than Clos des Lambrays which strikes me as being a bit too light sometimes…IMHO that is.

SINCERELY JOHAN

yes, but I believe there were two bottlings and one is superb, the other not so.
