Mount Veeder Cabernet 1978

#1 Post by Mark Golodetz »

My first very cautious lunch with two fully vaccinated close friends. Simple roast chicken.

The wine started full, rich and one dimensional. And it wasn’t a dimension I particularly liked. But it opened up nicely, becoming more interesting around the 45 minute mark, but saved its best with the food particularly a cheddar, that brought the best out of both.

Usually, I am not a great fan of cheese and wine, but this one worked brilliantly. A good result if not a great wine.
