- 2016 Girolamo Russo Etna 'a Rina - Italy, Sicily, Etna DOC (4/18/2021)
Big fan of these wines. This one is really drinking well now. Almost Chambolle-like with its finesse, and balance of cherry fruit, minerals, and silky palate presence. There's an attractive stemmy/rocky/volcanic backbone that lingers. Fruit is still rather youthful and sappy, and some structure exists. Debate in one of the other Russo threads about aging 'aRina, but there seems to be no real rush on this one. Just a very tasty wine. Such a steal at $30.
Tasting notes, varietals, grapes - anything related to wine
