2018 Antoine Graillot & Raul Perez Bierzo Encinas - Spain, Castilla y León, Bierzo (3/12/2021)
-- first glass poured 45 min. before initial taste --
-- tasted non-blind over 2 to 3 hours --

NOSE: red-fruited with a background hint of wet stones; leans high-toned; smells like the wine will be juicy on the palate.

BODY: garnet-violet color of great depth; medium-light bodied.

TASTE: gently tannic; hint of bretty funk; not big/gloppy/thick, but rather fresh and easy to drink; slight stemmy flavor with a red/purple berries mix overlay; 13% alc. not noticeable; seems best to drink in the near-mid term (within the next 10 years).

50, 5, 12, 16, 7 = (90 pts.)
“All these characters spend their time explaining themselves, and happily recognizing that they hold the same opinions … how important they consider it to think the same things all together.” --- A.R.
