TN: Carlisle PetiteSirah Sonoma '18...(short/boring)

Delving deeper to my recent Carlisle arrivals, I tried last night:

  1. Carlisle PetiteSirah SonomaCnty (14.8%; MountsVnyd + RossiRanch; 29% new Fr.oak; 210 cs) 2018: Very dark/black color; very intense PS/blackberry/boysenberry/ripe licorice/peppery rather spicy light toasty/oak very attractive fruit-driven nose; soft very rich/lush very intense PS/blackberry/boysenberry/bit spicy/bit jammy licorice/peppery huge fruit some toasty/oak flavor w/ modest ripe tannins; very long/lingering soft huge fruit/PS/blackberry/boysenberry/ripe/juicy light toasty/oak finish w/ modest ripe tannins; a big-fruit PS wines that avoids to oafish/clunky side of PS; the low acidity & modest tannins & lack of structure suggest should be drunk in the next few yrs & aging will not give much; prefer the SC Syrah to this SC PS. $32.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. This is a really tasty/huge-fruit PS that I liked quite a lot, but don’t think age will do much for this wine.

Thanks for the tasting note, Tom!

I suppose this is as high of praise as any Petite Sirah can be expected to receive from you…?
