1997 Oddero Barolo Rocche dei Rivera di Castiglione

Medium dark garnet color with some bricking. Lovely mature secondary aromas with more red than black raspberry, forest and earthy notes, a nice piquant hint of coriander and nothing tertiary. The palate is medium bodied, firm, balanced, harmonious, with flavors that follow the aromas. There is also a hint of quince, fine acidity, tannins almost fully resolved, a lovely glass but lacking the intensity of very great wine. A total pleasure with tonight’s lasagna. Rated 92.5, fully mature but can certainly hold another year or two.

Sounds good Dan. Only have Oddero from 2010 but I do look out for 96s and 97s for current consumption.
