89 Renaissance Late Harvest Sav Blanc

This was a lovely drop, maybe a touch hot in the nose but truly an enjoyable sweet wine to drink. Reminiscent of a plum wine maybe, or an apricot brandy, or some melange.

Stepson is a 1989 child, and Haut Brion is now past my part-time pocketbook, so this was fun to share.

I loved using Renaissance dessert wines as palate cleansers after drinking a bunch of young reds at a local distributor’s trade tastings. Nice that this has held up for you.

I’m told (by a reliable source) they still have tons of wine there.

I think they were a cult, but they made really good wine.

They do, I am worried about storage conditions that they have had last 25+ years or so though. Have gone through a couple of mixed cases, very high percentage of crumbly corks, some really excellent Cab and Cab-based blends, some advanced in maturity. My hit rate was about 60% so keep that in mind.
