2018 Castello Romitorio Chianti Colli Senesi
Mild neutral oak with red currant, sour and black cherries along with garigue underbrush and subtle pine/cypress notes. What you see is what you get. The aromas and palate match. There’s a mild tannic almost peppery bitterness. Supportive acidity with youthful rubbing tannins. This is a serviceable young food friendly red fruited chianti. Well made if not particularly complex. A couple of years would probably help with integration, but longer? My magic 8 ball says “Ask again later”.
