  • 2005 Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Vigne de L’Enfant Jesus - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru (2/26/2021)
    Decanted for one hour. Medium ruby color. Nose of hawthorn, pine forest, airy violets, black cherry, raspberry, briar. Deeply centered layers of primary Bing cherry, black raspberry, anise, iron particles, and brambles on the palate. Fine grained tannin and bright acidity. Long finish of rich berry fruit cut with iron and rocky soil. A complete wine sampled early in its adolescence. (93 pts.)

I would agree; this wine will only improve in the years to come. The unexpected gift was (is) that this bottle was so open for business.
