2008 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (2/25/2021)
Might have been a mistake to open this one right now, as I’m not getting anything more from it than the village? Still a tasty drink…translucent yet murky crancherry, raspberry fruits tarted up nicely with cherry skin and orange sours…crunchy saline minerality…sandalwood and dried herb spice…age has brought in some sous bois earth tones…wonderful silky and suave texture, yet thin, that is totally Chambolle. Has the elegance that I always find in these wines, from the Bourgogne to GC…but just not that next gear you get in the hierarchy up from the village. Everything is there…just a little thin and somewhat muted. Will definitely let the rest sit. (92 pts.)
