This bottling has been some of the most impressive wines I have tasted from Germany. 125 year old vines shine through. The aromatics are superlative in the understated way that only really old vines can. This is slate, star fruit, seawater, old couch(the good kind), stones, with a really good echo. The palate has great depth, nuance, and shows the age of the vineyard...but it’s ready to drink now.
As much as I like this wine, cellaring it feels like it would be a rat running a maze because that’s where it ran yesterday. For a Trocken Mosel wine, this is non-aggressive. Not saying you can’t cellar it, just that nothing about it demands it.
