Have you all heard of the legendary 1945 Grand Paladin? It was absolutely divine! Only twelve in the world! I had the pleasure of having a glass with my dear friend, Tobias Rieper. Truly a privilege to have such an experience in the beautiful Mendoza, Argentina.
It is perfection. Irreplaceable. You don’t drink the 1945 Grand Paladin anymore than you’d write a shopping list on the Mona Lisa! Mr. Rieper’s servant, Alejandro, asked if he should ‘pour’ the wine, I laughed out loud. I answered the truly naive boy with a simple “decant.”
If a Grand Paladin is auctioned, I will surely make off with the prize. The complete lack of knowledge on it baffles me! The greatest wine completely overlooked!
