TN: 2017 Rhys Chardonnay Horseshoe Vineyard

  • 2017 Rhys Chardonnay Horseshoe Vineyard - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (2/9/2021)
12.5% abv. Light straw, very expressive aromas. On the palate, lemon curd, melon, pear and a touch of white pepper. Great complexity. Very deep on the mid palate and with exceptional length. Grippy with a rich mouthfeel. Very delicious today with a great future ahead. (95 pts.)

This both makes me feel better about my purchase of the '18 this morning and eases some apprehension about drinking these too early. The '13 and '15 were marvelous (and are about gone from in the cellar), but I’ve been hesitant to get into the '16s (let alone the '17s) for fear they may not be ready. Thanks for this.

+1, thanks. I went in for 2 horseshoe chard/pinot. I think that was my limit. Slowly adding some whites to my collection besides the ones with bubbles.
