I love these wines but I have no room left in my wine cellar and have boxes from the last 2 Bedrock releases piled on the floor. Took a lot of restraint to hold this order to a case - picked up some Lulu and a smattering of red (wide rather than deep).

Yeah, I was bummed out about no Judge S-B this year too. The Judge seemed a little more rounded out, maybe even tropical? Regardless, it was in my wheel house. I guess I will have to hold out for the Bedrock version this year and see how that turns out. Cheers!
My Judge notes always consistently note the tropical fruits, super fun for a sauv blanc.

And I ended up with 11 bottles, with really holding back quite a bit.

Since I live in south Florida, almost all my shipments come at once in December. It's a logistical nightmare! I think I had 6 bedrock boxes, maybe more. I opened to check them but they are still sitting in the shippers on the floor. Depending on weather in march (it's already in the low 80s here), this order may be held til next fall too.

I guess it forces you guys to drink the Lulu with a little extra age...not a bad thing. But you do miss the possible open phase on the heritage wines before the shut down a little - opened a split 2019 Bedrock Heritage after hearing Chris say it was open right now but won't be for long, and he was definitely right

Sidebar to the Lulu conversation...just found an old video on the Bedrock YouTube channel that flashed a 2008 Ode to Lulu bottle, 100% Mourvèdre. I wasn’t aware they made rose back then, does anyone know if it was ever released? Would be really cool to try one from way back then now and see if it ages gracefully like the abandon roses it tries to emulate.

Same here. Although I prefer to defer shipment until after the holidays therefore January is the rough month for me.

I had a 2009 Bedrock rose this summer along with a 2019. Bought a case of the 09 on release and saved one just to see if it would hold up, it did! Way darker than the 19 of course but they were also a darker rose back then, sort of a orange, coppery color. Definitely not a fresh rose anymore but would be very interesting with some great cheese or anything roasted over a wood fire. Really fun to try them side by side.

They did have corks back then. Not sure about the bottle shape on the 08 but the 09 was in the same bottle as all the rest.

Ha! That's a fair point! All I need is a Berseker or two to come hang out once we're able to and the bottle might not make it 10 years old ;)

Give it another 20 years
Could happen! Don't find myself in a situation where I'm looking for a magnum of rose often. Plus....it would be cool to try with that kind of age [cheers.gif]
Had a 14 Lulu (750) this week that was great. No way it had lost anything.
Nice work Andrew! I always liked Lulu a year or two after release so I'm not surprised that they're still drinking well with extended age.

So hard to keep this to less than a case. Order in and Jackie as usual provided outstanding customer service with the “order in addition to the order”. flirtysmile

Having just become familiar with this winery approx a year ago thanks to this site, I'm already up to 5 cases. The recent podcast didn't help as I ordered every cuvee offered! The only exception was the LL Zin, but i wish listed a bottle and thus far I've been offered my wish list items.

Central FL here. I feel your pain.
I guess it forces you guys to drink the Lulu with a little extra age...not a bad thing. But you do miss the possible open phase on the heritage wines before the shut down a little - opened a split 2019 Bedrock Heritage after hearing Chris say it was open right now but won't be for long, and he was definitely right
Lulu with a little age is great! We also drink rose year round here!

But will you age them? You’re a major source of confusion on to age or not.

The MR Cab and Evangelho yes, the Limerick Lane and Papera maybe a little. The Riesling, Lulu and Sauv Blanc are goners before the end of Summer.

In for 2 cases. My Bedrock order sizes keep going up, but a case of Rose seemed like a no brainer. Ordered 6 bottles last year and they barely made it 2 months.

If you think Jackie's great on the order side, you should experience her hospitality in the tasting room. Outstanding!

After going back and forth for several days, several iterations---I finally decided what I would order--as always it's very tough cutting down an order to fit cellar/budget.

I ended up with:
12 bottles of Rose (6 additional wishlisted)
3 bottles of Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County
3 bottles of Sonoma Valley Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma Valley

I REALLY like the Rose, and usually polish off a case in the summer between boating days, and patio parties. Hopefully this will be granted, great Rose in my book.

Case of rose, 4 Sauv Blancs, couple Sonoma Cabs (will hopefully reorder if we love it), couple of Luciens. And 4 more ‘19 Esola Zins! Can’t get enough of that one.

Save some for me! I’ve not made an order from Bedrock before so I should be getting the email tomorrow.

Excited to try out the rosé and see what else is offered. Any must-buys for a Bedrock newbie? I’ve really only had the ovz.

Everyone seems to have their own preference on favorite bottlings, so honestly, if you're able to, try whatever you can to align your own tastes (bonus points if you find some older bottles somewhere online to really confirm which ones you lean towards)

I’ll definitely keep my eye open for something with some age. Thanks for the advice, I figure my first order will be focused more on quantity than depth so I can get a feel for them.

Not sure where you’re located but IronGate wine in NY has a lot of back stuff for sale right now. They come through winebid a lot too.
