TN: 2006 August West Rosella's Vineyard Syrah
oh, hell yeah! This wine is in a beautiful place right now. Very dark purple in color, without any hint of age. After a couple of minutes swirling in the glass those nose bursts alive with plum, iron, garrigue, white pepper, and baking spice. Beautiful and seamless, with soft tannins, but plenty of structure. Lifted acidity keeps it bright, and it coats the palate on the way to a long, satisfying finish. Really outstanding stuff, and no rush - this one is in no danger of fading any time soon, I am down to two bottles, and will probably wait a couple more years on the next. Well done Ed!
