2012 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling ‘Rotlay’ - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (2/1/2021)
Slate, lime sorbet, florals, and basil on the nose. It’s rich, yet electric on the palate with a beautiful balance of RS, soil, acid and fruit. Deep and precise, bringing intensity without weight. A cohesive, delicious wine drinking at early peak. Fantastic with spicy Thai green curry. (94 pts.)

Thanks for the TN. One of my favorite producers
I am actually surprised it wasn’t shut down.
Sounds amazing. Rotlay is usually my favorite of the block-pick wines.
Thanks for reading everyone.
David, honestly I was too. I went quite long on this wine (my son’s birth year) and figured I’d drink it over a few nights to get an idea of progression/ future, and I kind of wanted to check in on a '12. This was one I had plenty to spare if it was completely shut. It was surprisingly open even on day one, better after a few hours of air and drank youthfully well for the two days it lasted. I have little doubt this will drink well in two plus more decades.
