This note will be as simple as the wine. Very dark inky color, sweet oak on nose, heavy, smooth, sweet, and plodding in the mouth. Nearly no pet character,.
This was a virtual clone of a Pride or Switchback Ridge.
I know this stye of wine has fans. It was not crap per se, only crap to me. To think what could have been done with these Fritz Maytag grapes had they not been picked so ripe and undergone cellar manipulation saddens me. 6 times $53 before tax wasted.

I bought six on release because they were being distributed in Ohio by a husband and wife team out of the Cleveland area that had done me a huge favor. They are no longer in business.

On a side note the cork was firm and intact initially but fell apart on extraction despite carefully using an ah-so. I thought of Tom Hill and his recent SQN note. This had been laid upon its side since release. I have an unsupported working theory that wax capsules coupled with high octane and age may lead to cork trouble.
