TN: 2017 Domaine Ghislaine Barthod Bourgogne

Restrained notes of cherry and dried flowers. Really stony and pure in the mouth, with nice depth for its level and excellent tension. Thoroughly enjoyable now but crying out for a bit more cellar time.

tried one this summer and ‘crunchy’ felt like a good way to describe it. definitely felt fruity and needs more time to sleep.

We had one a few weeks ago.
Time would improve but not sure I can stay away from them.

Jean-Pierre, crunchy is a good descriptor.

Scott, whilst they may need time, it will be a disciplined person to give them such.

I’ve segregated my case. I pulled four out to drink at will, and buried the others I know not where.

I have some of this, good to read your note and advice. How do you compare to the Les Bons Batons, which I found to be quite intense!

It’s not the same thing?

Hi Alan,

I think it is the same as the Bons Batons. Simply labelled as Bourgogne for our market here in Australia.

Best Regards
Jeremy

Interesting, as both labels exist here, though they are priced similarly.

Thanks for the note. I have a bunch of the 15/16/17 that I’ve been trying to avoid opening… may have to check in one soon though as they are delicious young.
