2006 Tenute Costa Due Corti Barolo - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (1/29/2021)
About a 45 minute decant. Dark and opaque that swirls light in the glass giving way to vibrant ruby as it slides up the side, slight orange tint at the edge. Cherries on the nose, oak, slight menthol, rose petals. Front is as advertised, ripe dark cherries, vanilla, grounded in earth towards the middle. Medium acidity throughout. Velvety tannins integrate with the fruit on a lengthy finish. Its well put together and a lovely wine, an easy slow sipper. There’s no rush with this and it just got better over the following hours. I have more; its got some room to run or you can enjoy now.
