2018 Zo Wines Carignane - USA, California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley (1/17/2021)
Bottle decant of like 40 while puttering in the cellar. The color is a deep inky violet with shades of garnet. Nose is concentrated, red fruits, tart, asparagus, cough drop, and a hint of bubble gum. The front is forward, focused strawberry and cranberry that carries to the back. Medium acidity, puckers a bit mid-palate, soft tannins intertwined. Finish has good length, starts a bit flat but finished with a tart acidic burst that lingers. Interesting wine, wish I had this paired with some cheese, Gouda or maybe a good Gruyere. I’m enjoying this.
